DSV (datasigverify) was a proposal from Andrew Stone. ABC took that proposal and tweaked it a bit (or completely rewrote, not sure)..and called it CDS (checkdatasig).
I always thought it was great that ABC is including proposals from other groups and not trying to be tyrants. However, some in BU criticized the move for being too controlling because it is rewriting Andrew's code.
But recently, I spoke to u/MarkBlundeberg and he said that the CDS version allows covenants and other advanced things that aren't possible in the original DSV.
So, it turns out that ABC was on the right track the whole time. Thoughts?
