Hey all, about 2 years ago ETH reached its ATH, so i wanted to have a look where you would stand if you DCA from the top until now. In addition to that, what would have changed if you staked your ETH right away every month. For simplicity i assume we buy ETH every month for $100, if we stake we will get 4% return. I know the 4% return rate is not 100% accurate but lets not get lost in details. If you would just have held on the top and never bought more you average buy would be $4,810.With 24 month DCA, $2400 investment, you would now have 1.333692333 ETH for an average cost of $1,799.52 for 1ETH. At the current price (~$1640) you would still need ETH to do a +9.7% but is much more likely to break even, compared to a 3x you would need if you just bought at the top and hold. So I know everybody spams it, but DCA and time in the market really can save your portfolio. Now lets have a look what staking the amount you bought every month could have done for you.
So with staking you would hold about $76.74 more of ETH, with the current price and you would even need a smaller pump to break even. TLDR:Even if you bought at the top, as long as you DCA your outlook on profit should be OK, if you staked even better. So for once this sub is kind of right :D. [link] [comments] |
