A little story about taking profits

I’ve been into crypto since 2014 (xlm airdrop, about 12k stellar lumens for the high price of my email address) but really didn’t start learning until the run in 2017.

Since then I have been slowly DCAing into other projects, but very rarely have I taken profits, just Hodl hodl hodl so easy to say over the last 6 years I have seen my worth go from more than I ever thought I would have, to 15% of that (thanks to the free xlm I would have to be down pretty bad to be in the red) and yes watching all the “profit” slide away is tough BUT my plan is always to hodl so it’s just another day to me when we drop 35%.

Well recently I developed some off the wall infection to an injury on my foot and unexpectedly had to have surgery. Putting me out of action from my job (temporarily almost back to normal now) and leaving about a 3 week pay gap.

After my surgery, while waiting in the hospital for multiple days, my BCH (I know, roast me accordingly) holdings literally went up 130% in a week.

My wife who hates for me to sell wanted to work other options but I sat her down and told her, we have never taken profits before and this was the market and our needs actually lining up for once.

We sold some BCH today on Coinbase and I was able to go from hardware wallet to Coinbase to my bank account in literal minutes. I feel like they get a bad reputation online but I just wanted to say I have used them with 0 issues, I may have lost $ in spread and fees but I think they are building a very straightforward, trustworthy and useful interface over there (as long as you know what you’re doing, network choice and such). Loving the polygon network integration.

Not a million dollars but yet another story about crypto being sound money and a saving grace.
