Actual unpopular opinion: Taxes are good. Regulation is fine. It’s going to be OK, Americans.

Listen, if you, at the end of the fiscal year, make some nice gains, and some of that goes to pay for schools, roads, bridges, social security, Medicare, you’re doing yourself and everyone else a service. And that’s good vibes.

I know there’s a lot of “BURY ME WITH MY MONEY!” shenanigans in this sub, but good government needs revenue too. Oliver Wendell Holmes once said: 'I like to pay taxes. With them I buy civilization.”

Americans live in a really great country. It’s huge, it’s free AF, you say whatever the hell you want about whoever hell you want (within reason) because our constitution allows that kind of liberty. You can own an arsenal of weapons that would make developing nations jealous all within the comfort of your home because our constitution allows it. But should such great perks come with a fee? Yeah. Yeah they should.

I’ll be happy to pay some gains tax. The roads (and public schools) in my state are shit anyway. I hope my tax money helps.
