One of the newer arguments against Crypto and especially Bitcoin seem to have been in the last bull market that the Mining Industry is very bad for the whole environment, while many have been using very much overexaggerated statistics to prove that and mostly just defame Crypto. But we have to agree that generally the mining industry does indeed emit a lot of carbon dioxide and does indeed use quite a lot of electricity. This was also the argument Elon Musk used to ban Bitcoin from his payments on Tesla. Now a few years later, there has indeed been a lot of improvement in that sector: Bitcoin Mining Emmisions Chart, by Woonomics Here we can see how the carbon dioxide emissions from the mining industry have fallen by over 50% in the last three years. From 601 gram per Kilowatt hour to now just 299 g/kWh. That is a massive decrease and shows just how much of mining industry is starting to use renewable energy sources. According to estimated now over 50% of the whole hashrate power is coming from renewable sources. This just proves that we have or are at leat on the way of debunking another anti-Crypto argument that had been used by many. [link] [comments] |
