An analysis of over 7 million NFT transactions

Hi everyone. The Moonstream.to team just released a paper on the Ethereum NFT market.

Our analysis involved over 7 million NFT transactions that took place on the Ethereum blockchain between April 1, 2021 and September 25, 2021, across over 700,000 accounts.

We discovered that the top 16.71% of NFT owners control 80.98% of NFTs. This isn’t so different from traditional markets. :)

We also discovered a formula to distinguish utility tokens from security tokens. Utility tokens (like the Ethereum Name Service) come with concrete external functionality. Security tokens are usually purchased purely as investments.
