An observation from a long-time lurker (who has been in crypto since 2012...)

Some of you old-timers here may recall Reddcoin (RDD), which was launched here on Reddit way back in 2014 and was, at one time, ranked in the top 50 coins. (Hard to believe now, but it was...)

At the time, RDD seemed to me a perfect crypto play, as there was an already established, built-in audience right here on Reddit. So I was in Reddcoin (totaling a nearly 150M RDD) from soon after it launched, and held until I sold all but 15M RDD in 2017. (Sold the remaining 15M years later...)

RDD ended up a failed project for a whole bunch of reasons, but primarily because the people in charge were (at best) incompetent. Perhaps their biggest blunder, however, was that they failed to recognize the obvious; specifically, that everything RDD needed to succeed was already right here on Reddit.

(As an example, after having named the coin ReddCoin - and obvious nod to Reddit - the people ostensibly in charge of the project purposely chose to not work/partner with Reddit HQ. Good luck trying to figure this one out...)

MOON, however, has clearly not made the mistakes the RRD project made, and with so many positives now occurring - to include the power and reach of Reddit behind it - I expect MOON is going to prove to be the overwhelming success Reddcoin could have been.
