Anyone Serious About Bitcoin, and Fed-Up With Reddit Should Have A Look At SN.

I've spent years in this cesspool sub, only to leave for it for good a year-ish ago; Reddit's spot got quickly taken by Stacker News.

Although both outlets are Bitcoin-centric, they could not be further apart from each other:

• SN's community is, albeit a lot smaller (it's a lot like a small town where you simply get to know the users), very constructive on feedback, open for discussion, friendly, and helpful.

• On SN, there's practically no talk about either "FUD", "Fear" or "Hype" about a given "good" or "bad" day on the market, nor are there any posts à la "Should I buy now?" "Are we still early?" "Why are we dumping?" Et cetera.

• The team behind SN is very active within the community, and all of them are both fun and good at what they do; they're (especially K00b and Ek) really driven about improving what already is a very nice place to be, and since it's all FOSS, the community is endorsed to contribute towards the development of the platform, and changes that are implemented are reimbursed through a "Bounty-program".

• Zaps. The idea behind SN is to provide Value-4-Value, or in other words: Good content is rewarded with Satoshi's, instead of worthless likes or upvotes (I managed to accrue ~ 390k sats over the period of a solid year, while spending ~42k sats on good content, simply by participating within the community. The reward-system is awesome and works.

• Daily rewards. Top "Stackers" and "Zappers" are rewarded each day a portion of the fees and other contributions which are collected in a pot, further incentivizing participation and contribution of good, content.

• Off-topic. While it's a Bitcoin-centric app in both it's operation- and topic, there are also off-topic "subs", or territories, where one can write about practically anything while still being able to earn sats.

It's already a very nice place to be and talk about our favorite protocol, but we'd like to have some more like-minded people join us!
