I made this comment in another post about estate planning but felt it was deserving of its own post as it seems the topic of estate planning for crypto is getting a lot of attention right now.
Not every state requires recording of estate planning docs, and not every document is recorded in those states that do, but if your lawyer is clueless about crypto and you give them your keys for safekeeping (which I would never do, but people are actually recommending it to others in this sub for some ungodly reason) and that lawyer adds the keys to your will or estate documents without your knowledge, they could be made public record.
