Be careful what you click, scammers can now hide links in any discord text

Discord, the popular voice chat and text messaging platform for gamers, has introduced a new feature that allows users to hide links in texts. This means that when a user pastes a link into a chat, it will not show the preview of the website or file that the link points to. This can be useful for users who want to share links without revealing the destination to others.

While it will still give you a warning if you're leaving discord, it would serve well knowing that we shouldn't fat finger anything we click in discord moving forward.

I've been cautious in clicking links since forever even from this sub since there are plenty of scam links, airdrop phishing links and even asset wallet drainers but this is the first time I've seen anything about this. Scammers can get very crafty about this say even hide a scam URL into what another looks like a complete url

So for all our lurkers, grindors, farmers who use discord in a daily basis, be extra careful on clicking links. Before, we were taught a lesson not to engage in DM's from impersonators, now let's be wary of the links being pasted on main discord channels.
