Becoming a smart contract and blockchain developer without university education

I am just getting acquainted with these concepts, but in my country there is an obsessive belief that "if you don't go to university you won't get a job" (Turkey) . What are the chances of finding a job if I improve myself and gain skills in blockchain, smart contracts and Nft? Can anyone do it?
