Here are a few basic things to know which can make your life a lot easier when starting your crypto journey.

1. Education - Take some time to learn the basics of blockchain technology and how cryptocurrencies work. There are a lot of different types of cryptocurrencies available that serve different purposes.

2. Choose a Wallet - You’ll need a wallet for storing, sending, and receiving crypto. There are different types of wallets available, hardware wallets, software wallets, and mobile wallets. Research and choose one that suits your needs and provides a good level of security.

3. Choose a Reputable Exchange - To buy, sell, and trade crypto, you’ll need to use a cryptocurrency exchange. Choose a reputable exchange with a good track record of security. After buying move your crypto to your own wallet.

4. Start with Established Cryptos - There are thousands of cryptocurrencies to choose from, start with a well established one like Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) to get familiar with the space and minimize risk.

5. Security - Security is crucial. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) or use an Authenticator App whenever possible.

6. Research Before Buying - Before you invest in any cryptocurrency, do your research. Understand a project's purpose and technology first. Know what you’re buying.

7. Avoid FOMO - Fear of missing out (FOMO) can lead to impulsive decisions. Make investment choices based on research rather than emotions.

8. Practice Caution - Be cautious of scams and too good to be true offers. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Very few people get rich quickly in crypto.
