Being disciplined and responsible is a must if you want to "be your own bank" and hold it in private wallets. If you are not being disciplined and responsible, then crypto is not for you. Decentralization comes with a cost.

Using strong passwords and password manager (it is easy to find one online or even to find a code for one), writing down your seed phrase from multiple wallets and storing it somewhere safe and offline, checking the addresses multiple times, even if you did it 1000 times before, split your assets in multiple wallets etc.

All those things that may be boring and time consuming but will secure you and your crypto is your obligation. That means being disciplined and responsible.

That is the decentralization, and it comes with a cost. That is the beautiful and a scary thing in the same time with cryptocurrencies. If you lose it, it is gone, 99% of the time you are not getting it back, and it is only your fault.

Crypto is fully secured and safe to use, most of the times it is the people who are making mistakes. It is your obligation to take care of your money.
