In India, there has been "real time payments" (RTP) for about 12 years. In the US, the Fed launched the "FedNow" rail, only as a push transaction meaning the issuer needs to initiate the transaction. (Not like a credit card company they can pull an automated transaction to pay the monthly credit card bill)
As cross boarder transactions are common in supply chain / manufacturing, the fiat parents world is looking into using crypto for Buisness 2 Buisiness transactions. Typically these transactions involve more than 2 banks. (Averaging 5-7 banks depending on which bank is in which network) These transactions on an ACH rail can take 7-10 business days. If a creditor owes a debit or for a certain amount of product, and they accidently let the foreign currency account get lower than what they owe, it can cause a rift that could take over 1 business week to pay after they issue the conversion and payment of currency in the foreign currency.
Now a good chunk of payment processors are able to connect to crypto to assist in faster immediate payments. Wondering what rails, outside of BTC / ETH are going to be winners of maintaining a 99.999% uptime and 100% accuracy while having less than 2.99% interchange fees (common fiat processors held to this standard).
