Best long term plan: investing VS learning for a web3 career?

I asked this question here a few days ago but I was a bit misunderstood so I will rephrase now:

Clearly we are all here to make some money! But at this point, what do you think is the best long term strategy to make some ca$h money?

It seems like most people on this sub are about investing, looking for the next 1000x memecoin and turning 20k into 1 million (although unsuccessfully it seems lol).

What I'm thinking is rather different though. I'm investing in crypto and hoping for some wild pumps in the future for sure. But I feel like it may be a lot more valuable over the long term to position myself as an early adopter and "expert" in the field.

My thinking is: learn the tech, get involved in web3 early (as a tecky or not), get a job or some projects off the ground, build a successful career around that.

The idea is similar to learning web dev in the 90s, you would have become a very sought after web developer from 2005 till now for sure. Or been able to build many web projects until something sticks.

And it doesn't have to be in the IT field. There are tons of opportunities in sales, marketing, HR... in the web3 space I'm sure!
