I have a NAS with enough unused resources on it (64Gb of RAM, SSDs) connected through UPS, so I don't want to buy Raspberry Pi or other hardware.
What is the best way to run Bitcoin node on Synology NAS? (node + lightning network)
Ideally I want something reliable which don't require much efforts on maintenance.
(it shouldn't crash accidentally, it should be easy to update when needed / automatically, it should not allow to lost funds in lightning channel in case of internet disconnection / NAS reboot, etc.)
Note: Normally my NAS is always on but:
- from time to time I have electricity outage, so my internet connection may drop for some periods. Thanks to UPS NAS is still up (but with no internet), I hope it's not an issue for lightning channels and won't require "restore" activities.
- NAS gets rebooted from time to time (when I have electricity outage for longer period and UPS cannot handle it; or due to Synology updates). These reboots are not accident and being done through ordinary reboot process. I hope it's not an issue for lightning channels and they wont require some "restore" activities after such "planned" reboots.
