Binance accuses FTX of "spreading misinformation to media and US policymakers"

Binance has been having a public spat with FTX, resulting in offloading FTX tokens by Binance. While this has been developing, Binance's comms director just came out and accused FTX of spreading misinformation to media and US policymakers

I oversee comms at binance and will reiterate that we DO NOT target other platforms. Transparently, this has been frustrating, especially after learning that a competitor was spreading misinformation to media and US policymakers. But cz binance refused to abandon the high road.

These are believed to be in relation to the series of hit pieces Reuters has been publishing against Binance, including targeting CZ's children last month. Binance believes FTX is behind that, and also that FTX has been snitching about Binance to US regulators (SEC/DOJ)

These allegedly stem from Brian Brook's involvement in this fiasco. He was the acting Comptroller of Currency in Trump admin, post which he moved to become the CEO of Binance US. However he quickly resigned after just a few months in the job, and neither him nor Binance wanted to clarify what happened there. However rumors say that Brooks had become friends with Sam and had been leaking confidential Binance information to Sam in an attempt to sabotage Binance, and when CZ got a wind of it he offered Brooks to leave (basically fired him). But since then, Reuters has been publishing hit pieces against Binance, often citing confidential documents that they could not be in possession of unless someone conspired to leak it from Binance (corporate espionage)
