I tried logging onto Binance.com using my phone today and the first thing it offered me was email authentication. I had to select use a different approach and then I could select Google 2fa. For some reason I thought with Google 2fa enabled you actually had to use Google 2fa to log on to your Binance account. Is this new or a bug? It would seem to be a security hole if somebody could log onto the account using only email authentication despite having Google 2fa enabled.
Now I'm actually not positive it even would have worked as I was not able to log on using that method. But it did offer it by default and it did send me a code by email when I clicked send me a code.
I will add that when I logged on using my browser a few minutes later on a PC it did require Google 2fa by default as it should. So it only seems to affect the mobile app.
Edit: Literally 3 chat attempts from brand new Reddit accounts pretending to be Binance support. Be careful out there guys.
