I have been experimenting with trying to add a passphrase to my 12 word seed phrase.
One thing I have noticed is that a substantial portion of wallets donβt support a passphrase.
Coinome Blue wallet Myceluim
These three wallets have a passphrase entry option where the initial seed phase is entered.
The thing that is confusing me is that I am able to recover a wallet in blue wallet that I am not able to recover in the other two. I have checked twice to make sure I am entering it correctly, but it doesnβt populate the wallet with funds in coinome and mycelium.
I am wondering if anyone has insight about why this might be so. I like the idea of having that extra layer of security in case a seed phrase is found by someone who understands what it is but at the same time the risk of getting confused and losing funds is scary. Just curious if anyone has insights on my specific issue or just general thoughts and information regarding BIP39 passphrases.
Thank you in advance.
