Bitcoin and Altcoins

I’ll keep it short and sweet, as I get the impression even the mention of altcoins around here can be contentious.

Fairly new to crypto and have been mostly investing in Bitcoin over the past year. I’ve been very interested in reading about how Eth is really centralised (even to the point of rolling back the blockchain) compared to the completely decentralised Bitcoin. But are there any altcoins anyone thinks that are not scams? Surely there are some out there that are not scams that maybe do have some kind of practical value.
