In exposing the Bitcoin RPC API to the world in a web browser, we quickly discovered that one of the most informative endpoints, gettxoutsetinfo, was too resource intensive to provide access to. With the introduction of the coinstatsindex in bitcoin core, that changed. While the hash_serialized_2 type is still slow, the speedy new muhash and no-hash options have allowed us to open it up publicly, and we are pretty excited about it as it provides insightful data.
