I bought about $1k worth of bitcoin for shits and giggles earlier in the year, but on the fence about buying more.
I am already well into my retirement. What assets I have are the assets I'm stuck with. I own my home free and clear. I do not have income other than from interest from existing savings/investments. With my age and health condition, statistically speaking I maybe have 10 years left. I have no family, no children.
I could maybe do 10-20k more, but would I realize any noticeable benefit from that in my lifetime compared to the 5-7% I'm getting now? Say I buy $20K worth at an average price of 58,000. It hits 100K, I'd only profit about $15K which is how much I'd make anyway without bitcoin.
Is a bitcoin investment wise for someone in my position?
