I bought a ledger nano the year they came out. I have not used it in a while and do not hold anything on it. I know people no longer trust ledger, so I am shopping around for a new hardware wallet. I probably will go with a cold card q or a trezor 5.
My other main problem with the ledger, is that the one I have now is no longer supported by the software ledger has. They do not offer a free replacement either. So if I had for some reason forgotten my seed phrase, my pin would not have worked to access my bitcoin. I do not like that. I do not want to or feel the need to update my hardware wallet every 5-8 years like I would with my phone or computer. I would like to sit my hardware wallet in a safe and forget about it for 20 years. Are any hardware wallets going to work in 10+ years or am I going to need to buy a new device and use my recovery phrase. Defeats a lot of the purpose of even having a hardware wallet if it wonβt function.
