Bitcoin lag(?)

Despite my name tag, I am a welder with the IQ of about 3-5 red potatoes….

My question would be in the scaling of bitcoin.

When BTC transactions reach massive levels per day, how many transactions fit onto a block? And what happens when there are so many transaction and so many blocks mined a day, the entire bitcoin blockchain will have 5 trillion blocks on the blockchain….. so my actual question is, wouldn’t this cause massive transaction lag as the blockchain grows to exponential levels?

Eventually, the entire bitcoin ledger will have so much data in the blockchain it takes 38585889438000 tetrabytes to store, possibly causing issues???

Again, I am just a potato trying to understand more about the growth of bitcoin and the eventual “end game”
