I'm trying to plan out my UTXO consolidation into Taproot, but wanted to get some input as to what rate I should use as my projected MAX fee. What I'm trying to figure out is:
- Over the next few years, what is the highest fee that would still age-out in the mempools using the node defaults of ~2 weeks (2016 blocks).
For example, the lifetime max fee that would have aged-out was between 100-125 s/vB between Dec 2017 and Jan 2018. The 52-week max was last December where fees between 70-80 s/vB would have aged out.
I'm using the data from https://mempool.space/graphs/mempool and their rainbow colors are based on the follow brackets, given in s/vB
70-80, 80-90, 90-100, 100-125, 125-150, 150-175, 175-200, 200-250, 250-300, 300-350, 350-400, 400-500, 500-600, 600-700, 700-800, 800-900, 900-1000, 1000-1200, 1200-1400, 1400-1600
So, do you think picking 125 s/vB is the highest value in the next few years that would age-out, or do you think we might get over 1000?
