Bitcoin remittances

I’m looking more into some of the struggles that Salvadorians are facing when adopting bitcoin.

Specifically, salvadorian vendors accepting bitcoin as payment, or receiving remittances via bitcoin. What are some hurdles in making this more widespread?

What infrastructure is missing to allow for adoption to be easier?

To me, remittances seem like one of the most obvious use cases for Bitcoin to thrive in El Salvador, but I read that a majority are still done via traditional means.

Is this a cultural issue, or is there something lacking in the system to support and facilitate these kinds of use cases?
