Bitcoin's Mempool Still Didn't Fully Recover From The Ordinals Craziness, There's Still Thousands Of Transactions Pending

The Ordinals fever, back in April of this year, was huge and Bitcoin's network became congested with transaction fees going through the roof and with everyone wanting priority for their transactions. This resulted in very profitable blocks for miners and very high fees for users.

Some users didn't want to pay such high fees, so they set their fees manually, for them to go through when the blockchain becomes less congested.

What is happening right now is that almost 400,00 transactions are still pending, the fees didn't get low enough to clear all these transactions. The mempool still requires 13 sat/vB to get a transaction through with low speed. That's a lot from where it was before the ordinals became a thing.

It's not been easy for Bitcoin's blockchain to clear its mempool and it seems like users aren't willing to speed up their transactions by paying more fees. The question is who's going to break first, will Bitcoin fees get lower overtime to clear its mempool or will users become tired of waiting and pay more for the transactions to go through.

A mempool is defined by transactions that are waiting to be confirmed in a block, as the ones who pay more get priority, transactions with low fees start to get behind and they can get stuck until there's a drop in the fees.

What would happen if ordinals became a thing in a bull run? Would Bitcoin become so congested that it would be impossible to do low value transactions? There's still a possibility that a bull run brings back ordinals again and that the fever comes back in full force. We might see fees that were never seen before on Bitcoin's blockchain in the next bull run. While that's very profitable for miners and for Bitcoin usage ans maybe its price, it can be an headache for someone who wants to move their sats.
