I keep seeing this claim presented that BlackRock has a ton of Bitcoin, while anyone can google, that they don't have any. They offer an investment vehicle, ETF (Exchange Traded Fund), which invests in Bitcoin. Say I invest in Blackrock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) with 1000 dollars. IBIT will buy 1000 bucks worth of Bitcoin and yearly take a small fraction of that 1000 dollars for managing the investment. IBIT has 572 000 Bitcoins in behalf of customers. BlackRock doesn't own any.
