In a recent interview with Cardano Foundation's CEO, Frederik Gregaard, he discussed some of the options built on Cardano's blockchain, and how they've been approached recently by other US States on how to build a lightweight solution for voting. In recent years voting security and transparency has come into question for various reasons across multiple countries. With blockchains there are several governance/voting type systems out there, what models out there do you think are viable or combinations thereof that are worth exploring more?
Given some recent headlines around Cardano being approached to help build those solutions, I wanted to know what you're seeing out there being discussed and what possibly could translate into a real-world voting application. What popular blockchains are working on this? Or, companies that are building their own blockchains just for voting that maybe go under the radar (ie no tokens, etc.)?
TLDR on Cardano specifically: They have a Catalyst Voting system which allows users to vote to distribute funds from their treasury to projects and builders that contribute to their ecosystem, research, etc. More recently, the future of that governance will be handled through a platform known as SanchoNet (image attached for how extensive it is).
