In Blockstream Jade, if you don't store seed words in device but use the stateless signing option and use seed words generated as QR code to sign in to the device, then isn't the QR code containing the seed phrase the same as securing seed words written on a piece of paper?
Blockstream Jade does not house any secure element within it, then how are the seed words stored and secured if you opt-out of stateless signing? Also how secure is it then? How does Jade, then compare with other hardware devices with EAL 6+ secure elements?
What are your thoughts on Bitbox02 as an alternative? Personally, I would go with Coldcard but IMO I'm thinking from my family's perspective (little or no interest in Bitcoin - can't expect them to work a CC on my passing! need a HWW that would be easy to use yet secure. What are your thoughts?
