Bloomberg vs Binance — The Whole Story

I have spent the past several hours chasing down the FUD spread by Bloomberg today about Binance and investigations. There source is quite literally imaginary.

There is not one source outlet other than Bloomberg touting this investigation. The DoJ nor the IRS has made a statement since March about Binance. This March statement was also not in reference to Binance.US, which is a separate legal entity. These were also only case probes. Note the word “probe”, this translates legally to: no legal action has been initiated, no warrants issued. Simply a cursory investigation. Again, this was in March and was not targeting the separate legal entity that is Binance.US. This March case concerns US traders using VPNs to trade outside the US on Binance, specifically with futures.

Furthermore, the source article is Bloomberg, which touts an anonymous source provided the following

“The report, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the confidential probe, said as part of the inquiry, officials who investigate money laundering and tax offenses have sought information from individuals with insight into Binance's business.

The federal agencies haven't accused Binance of wrongdoing, the report said.

Read that twice. I encourage you to go look for a viable source. You will not find one. This is pure market manipulation of crypto and has damaged Binance.US sentiment, subsequently affecting the crypto market. All by the likes of Bloomberg.

TLDR; Bloomberg is the sole source of this information, and provides ZERO evidence for such an investigation, let alone any reference to the separate entity that is Binance.US. You will not find a single statement from: the DoJ / IRS/ FBI.

To close:

This is defamation by definition and I wouldn’t be surprised if Binance engages Bloomberg in a lawsuit. Binance has far deeper pockets than the likes of the dying misinformation machine that is Bloomberg, begging for $1.99 to read an article that provides no sources for content backing said headline(s) we are seeing.

“Libel is defamatory statements and/or pictures published in print or writing; or broadcast in the media, such as over the radio, on TV or in film. The publication does not need to be made to more than one person to qualify as libel. However, it must be represented as a fact, not an opinion.”

Goodbye Bloomberg!!!!

**Please share this information for the sake of crypto (Binance manages a massive number of traders, crypto, and investors). The FUD spread by Bloomberg, is unlawful as it is purely speculative. Likely entirely fabricated.*
