Hi all,
As part of my job I have to complete annual training of various things and one of which was cyber security. I understand most people here are pretty savvy, however there's just some tips to identify any red flags to be aware of:
- Not expecting any correspondence/interaction/transaction. Someone contacts you out of the blue;
- Grammar and spelling errors (of which my post may contain as a test) from an alleged professional body or company;
- The contact/company name and link details do not match - hovering a cursor over a link can show the full link;
- Time sensitive/Urgent, this will give you less chance to due any due diligence;
- A random email with suspicious attachments and clickbait titles like: Xmas Bonus list, list of wages etc;
- And if you did not enter into that competition/apply for that job it is unlikely that the message is legitimate.
Hope it helps someone from getting ripped off.
