Bringing Web3 to Twitter

Fellow Ethereans –

In 2020 I helped launch a tweet minting service over at Cent, called Valuables (https://v.cent.co). Jack Dorsey sold his tweet through our platform, as did many others. The goal was to bring as many people into web3 as possible, and show that NFTs were for everyone.

Today Twitter, Reddit, and other major platforms continue to maintain a monopoly on content distribution. And yet, it's clear that web3 wallets are the future of distribution. In five years, instead of checking a black-box aggregation of content, you'll be checking an open graph of wallet addresses. I want to help push us in that direction.

That's why I'm excited to announce a new experiment: https://721.am. It provides the best of both worlds: sign in with Ethereum, on Twitter. By linking your Twitter account on there once, you can tweet without having to log in. The kicker: any tweet published through it automatically mints to the signer's address, for free and on Polygon. Example: a Tweet and the Corresponding NFT.

I've created a special Twitter account that lets anyone with a web3 wallet tweet from it. You can check it out here: https://721.am/web3_tweets. Normally, you'd specify a set of web3 addresses or a set of NFT (ERC-721) holders, but I wanted as many people to try it out.
