Bruteforcing Bitcoin for generating private keys to check on existing wallets - or why keys are safe.

All Cryptocurrencies

I wanted to learn python programming so I stumbled upon this gem:

Github - Bitcoin private key generator - (there's also a version for Windows)

You will need a lot of luck, because we have 2^256 keys - every key has 256 Bit, meaning zeros and ones - converted to our decimal system:

115792089237316195423570985008687907853269984665640564039457584007913129639936( 1.16 x 10^77 )

different private keys for Bitcoin. This number is similar to the number of all atoms in the universe (as far as we know).

To go on with this comparison: If all possible keys are all atoms in our universe, keys with a balance > 0 are a millionth part of a grain of sand. Good luck finding one of these.

I really hope I will find Michael Saylor's private keys so I can donate all these juicy Bitcoins to charitable organizations and animal shelters. Imagine how many hungry children and cats could eat every day of this greedy man's coins. Also I'd buy a new bike.

Have a nice sunday!
