California announced move to put digital vehicle titles on private DMV blockchain!!!

At first read - I couldn't believe this was true but after digging a few more sources and reading it a few times - it seems this is legit.

BUT THIS IS INSANE (ly good news!)

At the end of the day, Blockchain needs to go mainstream and efforts like these, even if they fail to execute, are the ones that bring reality closure! Hope this has some ripple effect (a bit ironic as I write this) and sets the precedence for more government/ public service organizations across the world because most of these organizations are foundational pillars in society and them being leveraging blockchain technology is a massive endorsement for the mass population!

Now I can find 50 flaws in this news and call it private instance and that it will be centrally controlled and many more such breaking points, and all of those are nuanced truth but, in all of that noise, the one thing that stands out that the 10 letter word Blockchain is getting some serious traction and that's what we ultimately want. First installation may not be perfect or it may not even happen meaningfully but it seems there is an intent to start and that's good starting step.
