Can you share your story of lost crypto? What did you do to recover crypto assets?

Really appreciate the feedback I got on my post the other day. I'd love to hear your story of losing crypto assets. If you'd prefer to DM than respond on here, feel free to do that too!

My goal is: gather peoples experiences of scams, crypto asset recovery and why the process was good/bad. The aim is then to develop a technology based solution with my technical team to help folks recover their assets in the future.

I am not offering any service to help recover assets, this is purely research at this point.

If you have been scammed and lost crypto assets, I'm assuming you've tried one of these processes to recover your assets:

• Go to police and action fraud (UK)
• Go to a law firm (if you can afford it, anecdotally it seems like min asset value they'll take on is ~$1m)
• Crypto recovery firms (there are some legitimate players here but recovery scams make up nearly 33% of all scams according to the NFIB)
• Crypto/cyber-investigators e.g. Grant Thornton or private players in this space
• Use Chainalysis or other tools to try and chase down the scammer yourself

Are there folks on here that have tried any of the above or other options?
