CBDCs are JUST like fiat!

I've seen some people saying that CBDCs are the same as fiat.

No.

They're so so much worse. It's not an easy thing for the government to unilaterally decide to take everyone's physical cash.

With CBDCs, and the link between accounts and various databases, they could trivially decide to completely drain all accounts belonging to:

• pick a minority
• anyone who is a member of a particular political group.
• anyone who is left-leaning or right-leaning (FB and google has this info for sale cheap)
• anyone who makes less than a particular amount.
• anyone who owes back taxes, or has suspicious funds deposited in their accounts from someone they don't know (FB and Google again have this data) indicating a sale that taxes weren't paid on. Sell your couch without giving the IRS a cut? Done.
• anyone who is suspected of participating in any form of protest.

The list goes on.

Fuck CBDCs.
