Charles Hoskinson renames Ethereum Classic twitter (with over 600k followers) to Ergo Platform

It seems the Cardano founder really doesn't want people to use Ethereum Classic anymore.

Just a few hours ago on twitter, Charles Hoskinson renamed the twitter handle, name, and meta descriptions for Ethereum Classic's twitter account to instead now show Ergo.

Essentially because of this, Ergo now went from 60k followers to essentially 600k followers on Twitter.

• Ethereum Classic's new twitter (which now has less than 200 followers)

Charles has gone on to praise Ergo foundation numerous times. Both Cardano and Ergo share similar qualities and values as they both use similar eUTXO blockchain paradigms, while one is proof of stake the latter is proof of work. Charles has even stated in the past if there was any other cryptocurrency he would invest in, it would be Ergo. An Ergo/Cardano DEX is even in development slated for Q4 this year allowing you to trade between the two assets seamlessly on two different blockchains.

As per Charles, both Cardano and Ergo foundation are in communication throughout the year always bouncing ideas and papers off of the other.

Charles' previous project, which used a proof of work consensus mechanism, was known as "Ethereum". The Ethereum you see today is actually a fork of that project. The original project came to be known as "Ethereum Classic".

Today was indeed a very strange turn of events. It's unknown what will happen at this point. More details are still coming out, but essentially Ergo may have just gained a massive boost in marketing because of what happened on Twitter today.

EDIT: This news was as per one of the trusted moderators on Ergo's subreddit, they claim it was indeed Charles Hoskinson that handed Ethereum Classic's newly renamed twitter account to Ergo Foundation.
