Cointelegraph finally released result of their 'investigation' about the fake etf news they posted on twitter, and its absolutely comical, tragic and shows the level of journalistic standards they adhere to. they literally cited a telegram message as their source behind the fake ETF news tweet. Absolutely unbelievable! There is a telegram chat, cointelegraph employees use to find latest crypto related news and events. A random user with a pepe profile picture posted the Fake news in the chat which were later posted as it is, literally copied and pasted on the cointelegraph twitter account. Later the telegram user deleted the message and their account too. whats interesting is the time difference between the original message and fake tweet. As pointed by the ZachXBT on twitter, the fake news was posted 39 minutes after the original message in chat. The incompetant people had 39 minutes to verify the source, they could have reached out to bloomberg, blackrock but they chose to put out the unverified news out there. Zach Confirms the fake news source was a telegram chat All they did is apologize. Apology is not enough for this complete joke of journalism. 110 million US dollars worth positions were liquidated, people lost money, although i believe people should be careful of what they read on internet specifically on twitter, and use proper risk management tools in trading, the clowns at cointelegraph should be held accountable.
