Cold wallet options for people who travel a lot

I travel a lot. I mean A LOT. There are times when I don’t make it home for years. Well I guess it’s safe to say I don’t have a home at this point but anyway.

So is it really practical -or safer more importantly- for people like me to own a cold wallet instead of using software wallets like Exodus, Trust, Bluewallet etc.?

I’d not feel right about leaving the device in an apartment that I have no idea if/when I’d be visiting again. And I’m not sure how to feel about traveling with it.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
