College (or life experience) fund! A happy story about how my daughter will have an easier life than my wife and I have had.

When my daughter was born 21 months ago my wife and I talked about it and she quit her job. They were demanding a lot from her and underpaying her. What she was making wouldn't have paid for child care, we wanted to spend time with her and I was making decent money. We had enough to sock away a few hundred dollars a month into a Binance account we set up for our kid and we did that for as long as we could.

In Feb of 2021 I unfortunately lost my high-ish paying job. I was able to get enough freelance work to keep our heads afloat but I ultimately ended up having to sell some of my crypto to pay our bills, and we could no longer put away the money we had been saving for our little girl each month though fortunately we have not had to dip into her account (this would be the very last crypto I would sell because I want her to have opportunities neither of us had growing up.)

This past April a few friends asked me about crypto and how to get started and I had an idea. I told them that I would teach them the limited amount I knew about getting started in exchange for them using her account as their Binance referral code when they signed up. I didn't think much would come of it and I never check that account since I generally have an idea of what we bought for her with the funds we've put in so far.

I checked it today and this blew my fucking mind:

If you don't want to click through, the 11 friends that signed up for accounts using her code have generated a mind-numbing $6,020.93 in referral fees for her. I don't know how they are trading so much but hot damn, my family appreciates it. What a world! This account will sit here appreciating until she turns 18 at which point we'll hand it over to her and surprise her. We aren't telling anyone we know about this but we both figure Reddit is the perfect place to share this wild story.
