I don’t know if you noticed but it doesn’t get more mainstream than Facebook and Disney.
Facebook is the social media platform with the largest number of users (as well as daily active users), and Disney is one of (if not the most) popular channels for reality shows and series and they have legendary status.
The fact that these giga companies chose Ethereum to build their Web3 presence on is saying something.
There are many other chains to build on but they chose Ethereum for a reason. And with Polygon at play, they completely disregarded the scalability issues and practically made them irrelevant.
Actually while we’re at it, there’s a ton of other major companies and institutions that Polygon introduced to Ethereum.
In the past month alone, Coca Cola, Bentley, HTC and even Reddit itself chose to build on Ethereum through Polygon’s vast network of scaling solutions.
This is exactly why I stress on the importance of scaling solutions.
Ethereum is an amazing L1 and I might be biased but I don’t think any other L1 comes close the same experience.
However, the only drawback keeping it from going mainstream has always been the scalability issues.
But right now its looking like these issues are slowly but surely getting resolved and major companies that are a platform for the mainstream audience are starting to cement their Web3 presence on Ethereum through scaling solutions like Polygon and others.
If we keep up this pace then I don’t think it would be unreasonable to assume that Ethereum might go mainstream sooner than we all anticipated even.
