Comparing the top 20 cryptocurrencys: august 2019 VS august 2023

Cryptocurrency is still relatively young. Everyday almost 100 new projects are launched. Because crypto is relative young you see alot of innovations and updates on projects. This makes the top 20 in cryptocurrency change quite often. Change doenst straight away mean that a project is les worth, it can be that other projects have gained more in value. In prior to the 2020 halving. There where alot of new project launched. 3 of those are already in the top 20.

A bearmarket can bring as much change as a bullmarket. Lets compare the current top 20 versus a snapshot from august 2019.

Gainers:

SOL: Didnt exist in 2019. A new project that is already in the top 10

DOT: Didnt exist in 2019. A new project already on spot 13

DAI: Didnt exist in 2019. Currently on spot 15

MATIC: Being a new project around 2019, it has gained alot of momentum in the last bullmarket and kept this going. Its worth 68th more than the price in 2019.

ETH: Although it hasnt moved in position. In price its worth 10 times more than 2019.

USDT: Tether printing machines working overtime. In 4 years they almost printed 80 billion.

USDC: Just like Tether, USDC says the demand of the stablecoin has increased dramaticly and thats why they expand their supply

ADA: gained a couple of places and is around 6 times more worth than 2019.

Doge and SHIB: Meme coins have entered the top 20 and top 10. It gained alot of hype in the last bullmarket.

Dropped on the list

EOS: Dropped around 45 places and is 5 times less worth than 2019.

DASH: Dropped 88 places and is 3 times less worth than 2019

Bitcoin SV: Dropped 54 places and is 4 times less worth than 2019

NEO: Dropped 52 places and is actually around the same price as 2019

IOTA: Dropped 70 places and is around 35% less worth
