Could Ethereum be used as a dead man's switch?

With ethereum being the first smart contract blockchain I was wondering if there is a feasible way to create a type of "dead man's" switch.

A dead man's switch is designed to activate or deactivate when the operator becomes incapacitated.

The half baked idea I'm having is if a journalist or inventor for example is in fear for their life, could they upload their investigation or blue prints to the ethereum blockchain.

If something does happen to said person the dead man switch activate to release the information to the public which is secured on chain.

Would this be feasible? Or would a different chain be better?
