Couple of years ago I spoke to my dad about BTC and ETH

So, a couple years back I was chatting to my pops about crypto in general. BTC and ETH were the only two that I specifically remember talking about, but there may have been a handful of others.

Anyway, he told me about the risks and how he knew people investing everything and cashing out at a major loss. Told me that buying stocks was a safer gamble. Told me that crypto may play a massive role in the future, but it's too early for most people and countries. He then went on to say if I'm really interested in crypto, I'll need to start investing tons of time first before money.

Unfortunately for me, I just wasn't interested enough to start doing research on it (until only last year). Wasn't in a great place financially anyway, so perhaps it was a good thing I ignored the crypto scene for a while.

Fast forward 5-6 years and I receive a birthday gift from my dad - a bag of Polkadot. With a message "I believe it's a gift that'll keep on giving." Since I received the gift on July 20, it's gone up around 70%. I like to think that after that conversation when I buggered off and ignored the crypto scene, he went deep diving on the topic and kept it to himself. Or maybe he just meant to type DOGE but fatfingered DOT.
