Creative ways to sell and advertise your NFT

There are a variety of platforms where you can market or sell your NFT, each with its own set of benefits and drawbacks. What I’m about to share is something that worked for me personally. When I started making NFTs I didn’t have a big following and money to begin with.

I started with some free, organic marketing campaigns.If you're on a tight budget like me, it's in your best interest to utilize Reddit to promote your NFT. I also advertised in other free platforms like 4chan, Discord groups, Telegram groups and other basic social media platforms (e.g Instagram, Facebook, etc) I find that joining groups and interacting with the community helped me build a following.

My favorite subreddits that allow advertising are r/NFT, r/NFTMarketplace, r/NFTExchange. You can also post in art related subreddits but advertising isn’t allowed but it’s a good way to get exposure for your art.

Before you start selling your NFT make sure you have a wallet. When I started selling my NFTs I wasted a lot of money on gas fees. It is a common mistake to lose money on selling NFTs but the gas fees end up being more expensive. I posted my first collection in opensea and for my second one I tried auctioning in Rauction.house. Both have their pros and cons. For opensea it cost me around $200 to create my listing and a one time fee. But I think it’s worth it if you are serious about NFTs since they have one of the biggest platforms. For Rauction house I really liked their mechanics. They reward the bidders everytime someone gets outbid which can promote buyers to bid. Although you will at least need a good following to be able to pull off a successful auction.

Before you get into selling NFTs you should be aware that it’s not as easy as you think and it costs money to do so.
