Even if this post doesn't blow up, I hope that veterans share their horror stories to act as a lesson for new investors. In Arabic we say "you only learn from your bag" (I.e. from your mistakes); I don't believe in that. I've been in Crypto since 2017; I was doing really well at some point.. think: I stopped taking shit from others at work. But wrong decisions wiped me out. Now moons lead my portfolio.
I'll start:
1/ Bought around $12000 worth of Eth at around $80 each.. Around 150 Eth. Put it all to a project that I believed in: COSS. The project imploded.
At all time high of $4800, that's about $720,000.. I never went close to recovery.
2/ Used most of the Bitcoins that I collected over years to invest in a project called "Micropets".. A six figure investment (most of my porfolio) evaporated.
My tip, and I'm sure others have other tips, keep at least 50% of your portfolio in BTC/ETH. No matter how a new project sounds interesting, don't succumb to FOMO. Put something small in it after your do your research and that's it! More importantly, don't add more money into a project because you see it mooning.
Extra tip: always take profit. Never regret taking some profit every now and then. I was doing well at some point. Decide to ride it out all the way down.
