I was just daydreaming like anyone else about being filthy rich one day and then Boom! A fictional problem that I’ll likely never have to deal with popped into my mind.
When someone holds a lot of crypto in a hot/cold wallet and suddenly they die, does their money die with them?
I mean I guess it’s easier if you’ve already made your will and everything and have talked to lawyers and all that stuff. They’ve probable sorted something out.
But take for example idk Vitalik Buterin (even though he’s probable got everything under control already) let’s say that since he’s young he hasn’t written his will yet.
Now someone runs him over tomorrow and what happens to all his cryptocurrencies ? Will his family just search his whole house hoping that he has his cold wallet/seed phrases all around the house?
Now think about you, would your family be able to get ahold of your crypto if you suddenly die tomorrow?
Have you guys ever thought about this? Cause I know some people here have never even told their most loved ones that they hold crypto so that’d be even harder to pass on. Do you have any ideas you could share?
