Crypto is dead. Why is this guy wrong?

His main argument is that bitcoin (or any crypto) cannot be and shouldn’t be money, at least in our current capitalist system. This hinges on his claim that states must have the power to print and destroy money to handle black swan events like Covid.

For context he is mostly anti-state and agrees that crypto is a revolutionary and useful technology.

For me I’m not sure he is wrong. But, the ‘out’ he offers is that a change in political ideology, to something more democratic, means it could be.

Do people here think that bitcoin (or potentially another cryptocurrency, even one that does not yet exist) could possibly bring about this change?

Or do you think he is just wrong and that bitcoin could be democratic money in a capitalist system?
