One issue raised recently is the funding and donations to the trucker protest going on in Canada. We watched as the GoFundMe that raised over $3million was not only shut down, but the funds were not returned to donors.
In fact, the funds are supposedly going to be redistributed to "other causes". In other words, allegedly giving people's donations to unintended recipients. Fraud.
GoFundMe has come under scrutiny several times in recent months, mostly the result of perceived or real biases within the company.
They shut down a fundraiser for Kyle Rittenhouse, but allowed one for the Christmas Parade attacker. Removing one defense fund but allowing another raises some questions about favoritism, politics, and what a social credit score would look like if governments were in control of your ability to participate in something as simple as exchanging payments.
Crypto solves this by forming a trustless line to direct your funds, with no intermediary to gatekeep your transaction, and proof on the ledger of recept. As long as you can access the internet, you are able to engage in trade and commerce.
